The Origins of Chiropractic
Founded in the late 1800’s, Chiropractic was created by an Innovator of alternative medicine, Daniel David Palmer. He had sort to learn the concepts of all sciences in order to master and cure the root of all diseases.
At the Core of The Treatment
DD Palmer believed that the nervous system (brain, spinal cord and spinal nerves) and the body’s natural ability to heal, can be influenced by spinal manipulation.
Chiropractic and Osteopathy – The Similarities
Like Chiropractic, Osteopathy was founded in the 1800’s, by Andrew Taylor Still. Both practitioners shared identical interests – They both described the body as a ‘machine’ that can be adjusted to cure the ailments of the body without the use of medication.
DD Palmer himself learned the principles of Osteopathy and its application to helping curing back pain. Both founders were well aware of the intimate similarities between Chiropractic and Osteopathy.

Neck Pain, Low Back Pain and Chiropractic
For many years now, Chiropractic treatment has been proven through research to be an effective way to relieve mechanical neck and low back pain, by addressing the underlying cause through spinal manipulation and other treatment modalities.
Functional Tissue Release (FTR), a active movement based technique, soft tissue mobilisation, similar to massage therapy and Myofascial Release Technique, aimed at working the body’s movement chains affected by compensatory mechanical patterns created by improper sitting and sleeping postures, to release tension, alleviate pain and improve mobility.
