What types of Massage do we specialise in?
Deep Tissue massage
This massage technique uses slower, more-forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, commonly to help with muscle damage from injuries.
This is similar to Swedish massage (long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping techniques) but it’s geared toward people involved in sport activities to help prevent or treat injuries.
Trigger point massage
This massage focuses on areas of tight muscle fibers that can form in your muscles after injuries or overuse.
Rehabilitation from Sport or Exercise
Whether you’re an enthusiastic amateur or an elite professional, Our Massage therapists can help with the prevention and treatment of common sports injuries.
Sports injuries can also be caused by overusing muscles such as in tennis and golfer’s elbow and various tendinopathies.
Recurrent injuries may be due to an underlying problem, such as postural changes, as a result of old injuries that have not been resolved. These changes can lead to compensatory muscular imbalances and joint restriction. Both of these types of sports injuries can be identified, and treated, by our skilled Massage therapists
Postural Massage Therapy
For those sitting at desks all day, Our Massage therapists can target areas of postural weakness and soft tissue compensation. This is done first via Posture analysis which identify areas of structural and functional adaptation and target areas to improve posture pre and post treatment.
In addition to the above, massage is used to treat the following conditions.
• Digestive disorders
• Insomnia related to stress
• Myofascial pain syndrome
• Soft tissue strains or injuries
Please remember, you don’t need to have a particular issue to have massage as it is a proven way to spruce up your day and make you feel better in general!
What to expect on your first visit…
Your Therapist will greet you and begin by asking what brought you to us. We are always keen to understand the root cause of your issues, so they will carry out an efficient and effective case history to identify them. This will also be essential to rule out any complications before you start your treatment.
Before any treatment begins, an active and passive examination is carried out, along with relevant testing to understand your issues. We will give you a thorough explanation of our findings so you can understand what the cause of the problem is and how best to treat it. We make sure that sufficient time is spent to ensure that we get to the route cause of your issues.
