Groin Strain Physiotherapy Massage
At Guildford and Surrey Physiotherapy, our physiotherapists use specialised massage therapy and manual techniques to treat groin strains. The treatment may include soft tissue release techniques to improve the flexibility in the groin muscles (adductors) and muscle energy technique (MET’s).
This treatment technique can reduce pain, reduce muscle tone, stretch tightened muscles, strengthen the weak muscles, improve local circulation and mobilise joint restrictions.
Hip mobilisation exercises will be given to improve blood circulation to the tissues and improve joint function.
Manual Massage and Physiotherapy Techniques
- Reduce muscle tone and pain
- Improve blood flow and healing
- Stretch tightened muscles
- Strengthen weakened areas
- Enhance hip mobility

Heel Pain Physiotherapy and Massage
There are many causes of heel pain. Heel pain is usually felt as an intense pain when using the affected heel. The most common causes of heel pain include, plantar fasciitis (also known as policeman’s heel) and Achilles Tendonitis.
In the short term, we use treatments such as shockwave therapy and low lever laser therapy, which are clinically proven to help with reducing inflammation and give pain relief.
Why Physiotherapy and Massage Work So Well Together
Following the success of the treatments, our massage and physiotherapy specialist will also advise on ways to manage the heel pain outside of our clinic environment. For example,
- resting your heel – a few days rest and or reducing walking duration/distance.
- stretching – stretching your calf muscles and plantar fascia
- pain relief – using an icepack on the affected heel
- footwear – wearing well fitted shoes that support and cushion your feet. Shoes with a firm heel counter is recommended i.e. running shoes.
- Insoles/Orthotics –to raise the arch and support the foot.
Our combination of physiotherapy and massage ensures lasting relief and prevents recurring heel pain.

What to Expect During Your First Physiotherapy Session.
On your first visit to Guildford and Surrey Physiotherapy, your physiotherapist will take a detailed medical history to understand your symptoms and identify the underlying cause of your pain.
Your Physiotherapist will greet you and begin by asking what brought you to us. We are always keen to understand the root cause of your issues, so they will carry out an efficient and effective case history to identify them. This will also be essential to rule out any complications before you start your treatment.
Before any treatment begins, an active and passive examination is carried out, along with relevant testing to understand your issues. We will give you a thorough explanation of our findings so you can understand what the cause of the problem is and how best to treat it. We make sure that sufficient time is spent to ensure that we get to the root cause of your issues.
With all the above treatment modalities mentioned, you have the best of complementary medicine, all under one roof!
